CARB Compliant Generators

See our full list of CARB compliant generators below. These models meet the strict guidelines around emissions put in place by the California Air Resources Board and so are suitable for use in the state of California, as well as a range of other states which also follow these same regulations (more information further down this page).

All of the portable generators we sell including our CARB compliant range include factory direct pricing, so you know you're getting the best deal possible. Free US shipping to the lower 48 US states is includes as well. Please do contact our team if you have any questions about the generators listed on this page.

A quick explanation of CARB regulations and portable generators

The California Air Resource Board - or CARB - is a state government organization in California which publishes research and regulations designed to reduce air pollution and toxic emissions in the state. You can see our simple guide to the CARB regulations as they relate to generators here.

Over a dozen US states in addition to California do now also use these regulations, meaning if you're buying or using a generator in one of these states, it'll need to be CARB approved.

The regulations do enforce stricter standards than those published by the EPA, whose guidelines apply to the entire US and to all generators. What this means is that not all portable generators can be used in the CARB states even though they are EPA approved. Many however can, and most models by leading brands are approved - especially the newer ones.

So if you're in a state which uses the CARB rules, just double check that any generator you're buying does actually meet the requirements.
