Tri Fuel Portable Power from DuroMax

A tri fuel generator gives you the ultimate choice when selecting fuel types. Unlike traditional generators, a tri fuel generator can run on either gasoline, propane, or natural gas.

Propane is a favorite of many because they can get different size tanks that meet their needs. Similarly, many campers already have onboard tanks so travelers can use those. Propane is also a good choice because the fuel is safely stored in a tank and you don't have to worry about it leaking.

While propane is great for those living in rural areas with large storage tanks, natural gas is the best choice if your home already has it. This is by far the best way to keep the lights on during a storm or power outage because the flow of natural gas should not be affected. However, you will need to get someone qualified to add a natural gas connection if you don't already have one.

Gasoline is very convenient and easy to get in most cases. But it can be messy and hard to transport. Propane, on the other hand, is a great alternative, but you either need a large tank or multiple small tanks to last through extended outages. But with natural gas, your generator stays fueled as long as it is connected to your home.

The only downside to convenience is that you get slightly less power. Natural gas is the least powerful at 10,000 watts, with gasoline being the most powerful at 13,000 watts. Propane falls right in the middle with a peak wattage of 12,000.

The Ultimate in Tri Fuel Home Power Backup

With the DuroMax XP13000HXT, you can have the convenience of a home standby generator with the portability and price of a portable generator. When the power goes out, simply plug in your generator, hook up the fuel supply and press start.

Standby generators are more popular than ever with natural disasters on the rise, causing extended outages. Unfortunately, the ones commonly seen on TV cost tens of thousands of dollars which is out of reach for most people. The truth is you don't need one of these large generators to stay powered during an outage.

A generator like the DuroMax XP13000HXT can keep your home powered up with just a transfer switch. These allow you to switch power in your home from the power company to a generator. A special port is installed on the outside of your home to connect to and you can also run a natural gas line to take full advantage of this generator's capabilities.

Even if your home is not equipped with a transfer switch, you can still enjoy the benefits of a backup generator. Just plug all of the devices and appliances you want to keep running into an appropriate outlet, and you are good to go.

If you want to use the DuroMax XP13000HXT away from your home then operation is still a breeze. Camping is also great because many campers have storage for large propane cylinders that can also be used to stay powered up.

You may also want a generator for camping in a cabin. These DuroMax generators are great for going off the grid while still having access to electricity.

Similarly, jobsites may not always have access to power, and with the DuroMax XP13000HXT, you will always have enough electricity to keep your tools powered.

DuroMax XP13000HXT Portable Generator Features

The DuroMax XP13000HXT comes packed with features such as tri fuel compatibility and transfer switch ready. But there are also many other features that make it easy and safe for anyone to use.

A wheel kit is included to make moving the generator easy. Pulling a generator out can be a lot of work; that is why DuroMax includes wheel kits with their larger generators. The wheels are solid metal construction with rubber tires to make light work of even the roughest terrain.

Next up is an electric start which is very handy for a generator of this size. It allows anyone to start a generator regardless of strength. Just press the start button, and the electric starter will get it running instantly.

A full loaded power panel located on the side of the generator puts all of its controls in one convenient place. The two GFCI outlets, two twist lock outlets and a 120/240V 50A outlet are all together with their respective breakers.

An upgraded computer system monitors voltage, frequency, runtime, load gauge, and gas gauge. All of this is visible on an easy-to-ready digital LED display.

Another convenient feature is idle control which, when enabled, idles the generator low until maximum power is needed. This is great for saws and welders that are only used in short intervals. The idle control switch can also be found on the power panel.

Next to the fully loaded power panel, you will also find the fuel interface. This is where you will select a fuel source and plug in a natural gas or propane hose. There are two knobs to select fuel, one is to choose between storage, gasoline, or propane/natural gas; the other is to select natural gas or propane.

Also on the fuel interface panel is CO alert technology. DuroMax is adding this important feature to many of its generators. There is a light that will illuminate when there is too much CO in the air. The generator will also automatically turn off to maintain a healthy environment.

XP13000HXT Tri Fuel Technology Specifications

DuroMax's XP13000HXT is a great generator for a variety of uses with its high power output and three fuel options. It is one of the best selling DuroMax 13,000W generators.

It can produce 13,000 peak watts and 10,500 watts on gasoline. Running on propane, it can produce 12,000 peak watts with 9,500 running watts. Running on natural gas, it can produce 10,000 peak watts and 8,500 running watts.

As for outlets, it has four GFCI protected 120V 20A sockets for everyday devices. It also has a NEMA L5-30 120V 30A twist lock socket commonly used for smaller campers. Then there is a larger NEMA L14-30 120/240V 30A twist lock that you can use for larger campers or even a home. Lastly, there is a NEMA 14-50 120/240V 50A outlet, which is perfect for powering a whole home or very large tools such as welders.

Protecting all of those outlets are individual breakers that can easily be reset. There is also a main breaker that protects all of the wiring and circuitry for overloading or short circuits.

Everything you need to get running is included except for fuel. Propane and natural gas lines come with the generator. A black hose is for use with propane cylinders, and a gray hose is the natural gas line hose.

The generator is protected with a rigid steel frame that encapsulates the entire unit. It is designed for both protection and convenience by keeping keeping all of the parts inside the metal frame. Metal wheels and solid rubber tires also allow it to navigate any landscape.

Also protecting the generator is a low oil sensor shutdown that turns the engine off when it gets too low on oil. A red light will also illuminate on the control panel, letting you know that oil needs to be added. Next to that light is another light that will let you know the battery is charging while the generator is running.

With a cast iron sleeve in the cylinder and solid copper winding material, this 13000 watt tri fuel portable generator is sure to serve you many years. To guarantee it remains operating correctly, DuroMax power backs all of its generators with a three year warranty.
